The standard engine of the Forte is an I-4 2.0-liter producing a horsepower of 147 and a torque of 132 pound-feet. The vehicle features a CVT automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission on its entry-level FE trim. Meanwhile, the CVT is available as standard on all its other trims that have the engine.

Fuel economy as rated by EPA is 31/41 miles per gallon on FE trim with the automatic. It gives a mileage of 27/37 for the manual transmission. Other trims with the 2.0-liter engine give a mileage of 29/49 miles per gallon with the CVT.

Interior Room and Cargo Space

The trunk of the Forte is one of the most spacious in its segment. It offers a cargo space of 15.3 cubic feet. The 60/40 split-folding rear seats have been made available on its LXS trim, as well as, other variants to allow larger items to accommodate inside.

The headroom in the front row of the Forte is 38.8 inches while it is 37.5 inches in the second-row. The legroom in the front-row is 42.2 inches in the Kia. The legroom in the second row is 35.7 inches in the Forte.

Technology

An eight-inch infotainment touchscreen has been made available as a standard feature on all the trim levels of Forte. Other technology features include Bluetooth connectivity, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay, Built-in navigation features on the EX, as well as, other higher trims.
